Celebrating something is always a good excuse to get out and go for dinner. As Bistro L.E.S.S. has become our favorite to go to place, decisions were made very quickly and an online reservation was made. The great thing about this place is that the menu changes several times a year, but that some classics, as I like to call them, remain. On to Bruges!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it many times again: this is the perfect restaurant for us. High quality food, incredibly good staff, a relaxed atmosphere, … I’ve recommended L.E.S.S. to several people now and they’ve all loved it. Shout out to Charlotte for the perfect service again by the way!
We ordered several tapas, split a main course (compartir as the menu says) and left room for dessert – yay! First up for me: Wagyu beef dim sum. It’s been a favorite of mine since I first had it, and I need to have it every time I go back. There’s a lovely little spicy sauce attached to the bottom of these perfect little pockets and the zest of lime on top is a perfect accompaniment to the tapas.
Next, salmon ceviche. So fresh! So tasty! As it looks so good. Don’t be mistaken, the red chili makes it quite spicy.
The husband tried a new tapas dish which wasn’t on the menu yet: crispy chicken. It came in a sauce with coriander. We thought it was a bit too overpowering for the chicken. We’d substitute it with lime to make it a bit more fresh to the taste. But the chicken pieces were yummy!
And then the main course! I have never ever had such an incredibly tasty plate of meat before … We ordered the Pluma Ibérico. Grilled to perfection. Perfect seasoning of only pepper and coarse salt. It was accompanied by some fresh and tangy grated cabbage, cold Greek pasta salad with tomatoes and green olives and some sweet and sour vegetables. I loved it. By the way, the portion might look small on my plate, but you’ve got to serve up yourself out of big Staub pots, so there’s more than enough!
My dessert was a slice of chocolate pie, with dulce de leche. Perfect again. Chocolate not too sweet, I think it was like 90% pure or something, and the perfect dulce de leche. Nice and salty to the taste.
Well L.E.S.S., you did it again. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: I’ll be back. 🙂
