Chicago is pretty big to get around – and to be honest, I thought the public transport was a bit lacking. Once you go north of the river, there’s not a lot to get around apart from a couple of metro lines, a taxi, Uber and my all time favorite: the water taxi.
We used the Shoreline company as they had great schedules and good service, at a great price.
You can do sightseeing tours with them too if you want to.
Our hotel was close to the Navy Pier, so we caught the taxi there to the Shedd Aquarium & Field Museum. There’s a line working towards the city center at the Willis Tower. A single trip will cost you only $8per person. Which is pretty cheap, considering you get a bonus sightseeing trip as well.
The service is very friendly, it’s really easy to purchase tickets and the transport is speedy. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the views!
