My husband is a big fan of my home made curry sauce. It’s got a dash of coconut taste in there which he simply adores. Plus, I’ve got quite a few vegan friends, so when they decide to come over for lunch or dinner, this recipe is often on the menu.
When you say “Tenerife”, everybody immediately thinks of the south side of the volcanic island. I recently spent a few nights in Tenerife, hired a rental car and went up to the lesser know north side. First up, it rains more in Tenerife Norte, do take that into account, maybe bring a rain coat in your car, just in case. Drive to the town of Santa Cruz, park your car and wander around town. And stop by the wine and tapas bar El Gusto por el Vino.
May 2016. Incredible, but true, “the season” as the islanders call it, hadn’t even started yet, but Ibiza was starting to fill up nicely already. In other words: book ahead. Book your hotel, your flight, your rental car, but most importantly: book your restaurants in advance. Even for lunch.
I’ve already written a post about the beautiful Amante Beach Club. For me, it’s one of the best places to be on the island. Perched atop a cliff, overlooking a beautiful pebbled cove, Amante boasts of amazing views. It’s also where one goes for lovely cocktails (always try the cocktail of the day) and superb food.
I’m more and more considering Ostend as my hometown. I think people start to look at me as a local too, as I’m constantly there for work – and for eating out. Don’t get me wrong, Bruges is still my n°1 restaurant city, but Ostend just feels more homely.
The weekend Belgium’s town Boom turns into a fairy tale land called Tomorrowland is already behind us. The three day Madness has ended and I’m sure you’ve seen loads of pictures and reviews pass by already. As promised, I’d like to do a different kind of review, one where you get to know the food of Tomorrowland.
Now, as I only tasted a limited amount of food that weekend, I can only let you know how that all tasted. Just to give you an idea, Tomorroland has it’s own food website, Tastes of the World, where they let your imagination run wild before the festival even starts. The selection of food is incredible … and the food itself is out of this world. Really.
The summer season in Ibiza is getting back into gear for 2015. I’m seeing lots of plans passing by in status updates on Facebook and the first pictures of re-openings of hotels, bars, clubs and restaurants are flashing by on my wall. Ibiza-jitters are reviving!!
I’ve already blogged my top hotel picks – if you’re interested, have a read: https://thetastytraveller.be/2015/02/15/ibiza-the-white-island-my-top-4-hotel-picks/ If you know where you want to stay, you can start planning your stay on this magnificent island.
As I love to eat, people often ask me where they need to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the White Island. I have several options, but my first reaction is always Amante Beach Club! But be prepared to spend some money – like almost everywhere else on the island 😉
